About Me

The Kavanaugh nomination/confirmation to SCOTUS was the final straw. I hope to be in DC next January for the March.

I was chair of my county's Democratic party from 2008 to 2016. I also served as chair of the Kansas Democratic County Chairs Caucus (KC3) from February 2013 to January, 2017.

I've run for office three times - twice as a state representative candidate, the last time was for a state senate seat in 2016. I ran for that seat while fighting breast cancer. Lost the senate race, won the cancer battle.

I cleared my calendar in 2017 with the hope of recovering from the cancer treatments and senate race, only to discover that my beloved "Auntie M" had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015 and needed my help. I ended up going to court to become her guardian/conservator; less than a year later I repeated the process for her partner. In between I had to clean out & sell her house (they had moved to a retirement community 18 months prior) and sort out a remarkably tangled financial mess.

I'm close to finishing the Flatiron coding curriculum, which I hope will lead to gainful employment. Regardless, I plan to use it to set up a clearinghouse of resistance activities/organizations for my fellow lefties in Kansas. (Yes, we exist. We're not unicorns.)
