“I march because women are human beings, and human beings deserve human rights.”
Inspired Activist and Feminist
Finding myself after hitting rock bottom in September has been because of individuals I've found and connected to as feminists, who have enlightened my life and have helped me become more confident with the brewing ideas within me. I recently attended the 'Our Emmeline' march in Manchester and I have never been so inspired. In a microcosm of sisterhood stalking the streets we marched, and we sang, and we cheered - and we quite literally brought Manchester to a stand still on the momentous occasion. I went simply adorned with a sash, a camera, flowers on my hat, inspirational words from some incredible women, and this feeling in my heart of unbridled, untidy joy. This was where I belonged, and I pledged to myself and my future that change starts when we survive turmoil and light the path for the next generation to follow. The young are at the gates!
