Women’s March Ohio is a women-led organization that brought together people of all genders, ages, races, cultures, political affiliations, disabilities and backgrounds across Ohio and onward to our nation’s capital on January 21, 2017, to affirm our shared humanity and pronounce our bold message of resistance and self-determination for the largest march in United States History.
Recognizing that women have intersecting identities and are therefore impacted by a multitude of social justice and human rights issues, we have outlined a representative vision for a government that is based on the principles of liberty and justice for all. As Dr. King said, “We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back.”
We have turned a moment in history into a movement recognizing our liberation is bound to each other. Women’s March Ohio will continue to build the foundation for social progress for generations.
The mission of Women’s March Ohio is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change. Women’s March Ohio is a women-led movement providing intersectional education on a diverse range of issues and creating entry points for new grassroots activists & organizers to engage in their local communities through trainings, outreach programs and events. Women’s March Ohio is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect.
