About this Event
Women’s March Tel Aviv envisions a region free from violence against women and systems of oppression and one that is supportive of women in the creation of a more egalitarian, just society, rooted in inclusive structures guided by equality, safety, inclusion and unity.
Women's March Tel Aviv will work to promote women's rights and end violence for all women as we address the root causes of conflict in the region by partnering with existing organizations dedicated to women's rights, social justice and peace building.
Together we can advance the rights of all women through women’s participation in the peace process.
Peace depends on women.
Women’s March Tel Aviv is a women-led movement recognizing that women are vital defenders of communities in times of conflict. Women can mobilize and heal rifts between individuals and communities and create a sustainable future for their children and generations to come. Ending gender based violence leads to a more peaceful society for all.
Research has shown that women’s meaningful participation in peace negotiations results in agreements 35% more likely to last at least 15 years.
Women's March Tel Aviv will support local established organizations dedicated to ending violence against women and engaged in peace building, some of these organizations include: MIDWIVES FOR PEACE, a grassroots group of Palestinian and Israeli midwives. The midwives have come together to act on their commitment to their profession and to peace, based on the belief that ' peace on earth begins with birth', and KUCHINATE, a collective of African asylum seeking women living in Tel Aviv, Israel that aims at empowering women who have found themselves in vulnerable situations - many are survivors of human trafficking, torture, and sexual abuse.
