About this Event
WOMEN’S MARCH MILAN - ITA
WOMEN’S MARCH MILAN - ENG
Democrats Abroad Milan & Women's March Milan are pleased to host the fourth anniversary Women's March on Sunday January 19th from 3 pm – 6.30 pm in defense of, and for the promotion and protection of, women’s rights. The first historic Women’s March in 2017 was the day after the inauguration of Donald Trump. It was a cry from women in the US, who were joined by women all over the world, demanding respect and equality in a stand of solidarity to be heard and seen defending their rights and holding Trump accountable for those rights. It was the largest recorded protest in history. This year we march together to defend those same rights- the right to be respected, to defend our bodily rights, our right to choice, our reproductive rights, and equality under the law. Systemic discrimination against women threatens and denies women’s rights. We reject systemic discrimination and march to raise awareness. We stand in solidarity with our sister marches around the world
The event will begin in Piazza Cairoli at 3pm and follow through the city as we make our way to Piazza della Scala.
Please note our event in Milan is planned for Sunday January 19th while other sister marches will be taking place on Saturday January 18th.
